Meet Glenn
Born in 1965 in Dillingham, Alaska, along the shores of the world-renowned Bristol Bay, I developed a deep connection to the land from an early age. Growing up hunting, fishing, and exploring Alaska’s wilderness taught me to respect nature and appreciate the resources it provides.
As a teenager living in Kodiak, Alaska, I was introduced to traditional herbal remedies and the rich plant knowledge shared throughout coastal Alaska. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong fascination with the healing properties of wild plants and inspired a journey of learning that continues today.
Throughout my career, I have traveled extensively across Alaska, visiting remote villages and some of the most rugged and isolated regions of the state. My passion for sailing opened even more opportunities to explore places that few people ever experience, allowing me to deepen my understanding of Alaska’s landscapes and the remarkable plants that thrive there.
The Story Behind Our Devil’s Club Salve
Among Alaska’s many medicinal plants, Devil’s Club captured my interest more than any other. Long respected for its traditional uses, it became the focus of years of study, experimentation, and careful harvesting.
What began as a handcrafted salve made for family members seeking relief from arthritic discomfort soon grew into a product requested by friends, neighbors, and members of the local community. After receiving such positive feedback, I decided to make it available to a wider audience through Etsy.
Today, I continue to travel throughout Alaska in search of the healthiest and most vibrant Devil’s Club. Carrying a traditional trapper’s basket, I often hike miles into remote wilderness areas to responsibly harvest this remarkable plant at its peak.
Every batch is crafted using a slow, traditional cold-infusion process and carefully measured ingredients designed to preserve the plant’s natural qualities. The result is a premium salve that reflects both Alaska’s heritage and my commitment to quality craftsmanship.
